| The number of funding dollars available in the Health Care Industry was at an all time high yet there was no single source of information that individuals could use to locate grants. The assignment was to design and create a web portal that would function as a national database housing all available federal, state, local and private foundation grants relating to the Health Care and Medical Industries. The requirements were that the site be searchable, fast-loading, and easy to use. In addition the data warehouse had to include tools that would make it simple for our client's non-technical staff to manage. | |||

| At the heart of the e-Grants portal are two integrated databases: a User Information Database an d a Grant Information Database. When users log into the system, a strategic overview of all grants pertaining to the users' pre-defined areas of interest is displayed. Additional options allow users to view an abstract or follow a link to full versions of a grant, including contact and time sensitive information. A smart email notification system alerts subscribers to new grant opportunities as they arise and routs them directly to the relevant online resource. | |||
