of interest for an inādepth view of counties and communities across the state.

To accomplish this objective, it was decided that the best software to use was ESRI's ArcGIS. They have a desktop application which along with their APIs provide a cost-effective way to develop an web-based mapping application. The decision was made to use their Javascript API. The initial launch of the mapping tool in February 2013 gave users the ability to: map county level KWIC data for the various indicators with the ability to compare across years, show geographic boundaries like Congressional District boundaries, and display Community Assets like Head Start Offices. In addition to being able to display the information on the map, users can also see the information in a table as well as download the information.
