The project involved creating a training DVD with a total running time of 18 to 24 minutes consisting of seven digital stories (presentations blending images, music, narrative and voice together). The stories featured actual foster children telling, in their own words, why they should be involved in the judicial processes that affect their lives. The stories where enhanced with video, photographs, graphics and music to make a series of compelling presentations. The DVD has a standard DVD menu allowing a trainer to select stories to display during a training process.
This project was done through collaboration with The NYS Permanent Judicial Commission on Justice for Children.
The Commission, working with actual foster children, developed the narratives that carry the project's message. Once the narratives were complete, Cogent working collaboratively with the foster children, brought he narratives to life by adding media (Video, photos, images and audio).
Cogent took the lead in the technical and creative aspects of producing the seven digital stories and authoring the DVD. A web page was also created to allow the messages of the children to be viewed over the internet and order a copy of the training DVD.
The products that was delivered include a free-standing DVD and web pages enabling visitors to access the materials over the internet. |
