Client Objective
Create an entertaining stock market game to be used by First Albany Corporation's brokerage department at a trade show. The goal was to both attract attention to the client's display area during the show and also generate leads for the client to follow up after the show. The client's Director of Marketing wanted to capitalize on the popularity of ABC's "Who Wants to Be A Millionaire" game show.
Profile
A desktop spin-off of the Millionaire game was created in Macromedia Director. The game resembled the TV version with one significant difference: in order to play the game, prospects had to log-in their names and day-time phone numbers. This data was was used to generate a printed Certificate of Appreciation that was awarded to each contestant together with a small gift.

The same data was subsequently used for a marketing follow-up.

To allow the client to adapt the game for different uses a plain text template was developed allowing the client to easily generate new question sets more appropriate for example, for internal promotional or training.

A final feature was added to give the game a more dynamic look. Three of the client's recent sixty second TV spots were compressed and brought into the interface. Whenever the game was idle these spots would automatically loop and attract visitors to the game presentation.

The client was delighted with the success of the project. The trade show proved a big success. Visitors enjoyed playing the game and in the process developed an impressive leads list for the client.
