| Convert a plain text document into a dynamic interactive presentation for the Home Care Association of New York State. The existing document, which addressed the emergency preparedness needs of home care providers in New York State, though rich in information and detail, was dense and inaccessible. HCA asked Cogent for a solution that would capture the imagination of home care professionals, lead them through the process of planning and practicing for an emergency disaster and give them the option of printing out a high quality text version of the presentation. | |||

| Reformat and re-purpose the source materials into an elegant interactive document, using Adobe Acrobat. Create an interactive table of contents to allow users to jump directly to special areas of interest. Intersperse video and audio interviews, with content matter experts, within the handbook and create internal links within the document to enable users to make their own unique path through it. Extend the useful shelf-life of the product by adding links to external resources such as: forms, important documents and websites like that of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. By creating the presentation in Adobe Acrobat,
Cogent enabled users to easily print all or part of the handbook, thus providing users with a hard copy version of the handbook that mirrored the design, organization and formatting of the electronic original. The client was delighted with the reception of the interactive handbook as was the New York State Department of Health whose grant helped fund the project. |
